Coito draws on a diverse creative background of writing and dance and also is an avid student of spirituality and healing old wounds. Her detailed collages, juxtaposed with provocative imagery ~ rich with meaning, pull the viewer in for a closer look.
She has studied papermaking, bookbinding and various forms and styles of collage. Coito was asked by Hospice of Cheshire County, New Hampshire to create designs which were fashioned into note cards to raise funds for their bereavement services. Since then, she never looked back and has been creating collages since 1989.
Raised in a small New England town, Coito transplanted to the San Francisco Bay Area 35 years ago where she currently lives. She calls the Bay Area “Oz” and delights in its rich beauty and endless source of creative energy.
